I’m

not at all familiar with Facebook, what is the difference between it and this

group? Is it just like My

Space? Can you talk to people? Is it different from regular email? I know I sound out of touch, but then I

guess I am!

The bad thing seems to be that anything you put on there is quite public anybody that you have accepted as your friend can access any and all pictures you have put on your page. Your friend can comment on one of your pictures and you get a notification of that comment and actually all their friends get notification that they commented on this photo and all your friend's friends can look at that complete album. Be wary of what you post.

The good thing is you can look at friends pictures I feel closer to the people that post in our group when I can associate a face with the name.

It is very public, but with millions of people on it, who can make use of pictures I posted of a family reunion, even if they do get to look at them?

Ian, I went into settings and change my photo privacy setting to

" friends only " . I am not sure if that would prevent a friend of mine

from having it on their page where a friend of theirs (but not mine)

could see it as well, but I just wanted to let you know that option is

there.

I'm not sure it does. I know that I get a notification with a thumbnail of the photo when a friend comments on someone else's photo. If I click on that thumbnail I get the larger view of that photo and I am them able to work my way all the way through that album. But If I click on that persons name later, it tells me I cannot see their profile unless I'm their friend.

Barb or anyone else,

You can takeout an account and browse around without putting up any pictures on adding any info to find out what's its about. Later delete or abandon the account.

I'm pretty sure that when you can see your 'Friend's friends' photos,

it's because they haven't ticked the box that says only their friends

can look at their photos. From memory, it automatically ticks the

box 'Friends and friends of friends' when you create an album and then

you have to change it. At least I hope this is the case because I

don't want everyone looking at my photos...not that there's anythign

untoward on there ;)

Have I used the word 'friends' enough???

Another thing on this facebook. I don't see it replacing this posting method it just complements it, allowing closer contact because you can associate a face with a post. Seven more PSCers have been added to my friendship list since yesterday morning. I think I have about 30 on my list.

The "Really Young Wife of Fred" sounds like the newest soap opera coming next month! I can't say a word, as I've been 39 for awhile now - if Phyllis Dillar could do it, so can we!

I like to think of it as a place for lots and lots of " off topic "

posts. ;)
