Guest guest
> What in the world are polysacharides?!?!? _______________________-- They are kind of a sugar/starch. I believe that either Barry Durrant Peatfield talks about this in his book " The Great thyroid Scandal " or Dr. Young in his book " Thyroid, Guardian of Health. " But, I did find this bit about it on the web. _______________________ " Myxedema (another term for hypothyroidism) is the accumulation of mucoid material (protein bound polysaccharides, hyaluron- and chondroitin sulfuric acid type mucopolysaccharides) in the dermis and subcutis. The condition is characterized by dry, waxy swelling of the skin, with abnormal depositis of glycosaminoglycans in skin (mucinosis) and other tissues, associated with primary hypothyroidism. The edema is nonpitting, and there are distinctive facial changes including swollen lips and a thickened nowse. ______________________ There are no pills to get rid of it other than the proper dose of thyroid, high enough to get rid of hypothyroidism. It takes some time after getting the dose right for them to clear out fully. They build up as a result of a metabolic rate that is too slow not allowing the cell to have good housekeeping.
