This disease has many common symptoms, but they affect people differently.

Basic diagnosis starts with:

1. Everything they test you for comes back normal.

2. Doctors and other people think its all in your head. This does not

always occur, but it has happened to so many of us that we often think of

this as a part of getting diagnosed.

3. You have pain throughout all four quadrants of your body for at least

three months.

4. You have at least 11 out of 18 tender point sensitive. Most fibro sites

have a chart of the tender points. My favorite site is

http://www.tidalweb.com/fms/ I have found it very helpful for myself and

to help me explain this disease to people who don't have it and want to

understand.

BTW for all of you who have wanted something to wear something fun for fibro

they have shirts, mugs, and stuff with fibro sayings on them..... My

personal favorite is the Altered Serenity Prayer which I have copied below.

Grant me the serenity to accept

the things I cannot change,

the courage to change the things that I can,

and the wisdom to hide the bodies

of the Doctors I shot when they said

" you're perfectly healthy, it's all in your head. " .
