Guest guest
Welcome to the group. You have had the misfortune to find us at a rather bad time. The owner (Deanna) of our group went in for surgery and after being sent home was rushed back to the ER and we have not heard anything since. One of the Co-owners has also had surgery on her arm this week and cannot post much. Typing one-handed you know can be difficult. The other co-owner is on vacation. We are down to 3 moderators and we are all part-time because of large families or work. We will attempt to get your posts on as soon as possible but I thought you should be aware of our problem. Oh yes, you must add to this mix the fact that we have several members in Florida and we are concerned about the ones that we have not heard from yet. You will find many members who have not been diagnosed with Lupus, at least not yet. I am one of those people. We all share our stories, try to help each other out with questions and problems and we are one large family or very good friends. We do discuss personal issues as well. I hope that you will find us comfotable to around as many others have. It is late for me (here in Michigan) and I think I will head off to bed. I look forward to hearing from you. We also have 1 dog, 4 cats, 5 guinea fowl, 8 goats and about 100 chickens. Until one year ago I had always lived in a big city and am very much enjoying living in the country. I have been sick since May 2001 with fibromyalgia. Yesterday I saw a doctor for the first time since moving here. I went because I needed a prescription to refill my blood pressure meds. The doctor told me he suspects I have Lupus. I have actually wondered this myself before and have tried to study it but never mentioned that to him before he mentioned it. I am trying how to figure out how to be tested. Both financially and because I would have to drive about 2 hours to get to a rheumatologist. Even though I do not know for sure that I have Lupus, I thought joining this group would be helpful for me to learn more about it. Probably the biggest suspicion I have about the Lupus is my very red face that looks like all the butterfly rash pictures I have seen online.
