Guest guest
It amazes me how many bad doctors there are. I am in a group for my sons Legg Perthes disease and some of these kids get the worst doctors who misdiagnose or treat the parents like they are idiots. Perthes is a fairly rare disease that will only show on x-ray. Some of these doctors dont know about it and dismiss it as " all in the mothers head " Doctors who do this do it out of lack of knowledge. If they dont know it doesnt exist to them. I have been lucky with my sons pediatrician. One in fact said he listens to mothers because they have an instinct alot of times with their children. If any of you find a good doctor, take your husbands with you. I had some problems with stress when my son first got his disease and was not eating due to stress, was having panic attacks, and since I was not eating got very worn down. I weighed 102 lbs by the time I went to the doctor. I was sure I had cancer or something terrible and had my husband go to the doc with me. My doc immediately knew what was wrong with me and helped me. He also looked at my husband and said it is time for you to step in for a while. He said I didnt get this way overnight and it would take time for me to recover. This worked miracles on my husband. I did the therapy 3 times a day with my son and went to school with him everyday to keep a watch on his activities and I cooked. My husband did everything else, vacuming the floors, doing dishes, laundry and worked 40 hours a week. Guess what, I am better and he is still in the habit of helping. I think he is afraid I will lose it again!! I cannot imagine having a husband who is no help. My husband admitted that he would have never really understood what was going on if the doctor had not told him. Now he believes everything this doctor says so when I mention the fibro and what the doctor said he believes it.
