I am a nurse too, and I have done home care and am now doing home care...I

have a hard time getting around in the mornings, and with this job, I don't

have to....if i'm really sick, I can always move everybody to

tomorrow--although, I rarely do this...I've called in sick one day in the

past 7 years, through some flares where I couldn't get out of bed and

thought I was truly going to die. I would/will never go on disibility and

probably will never retire. I have chronic migraines and if I can't see

good enough to drive, I wait until my husband gets home (at 2:30) and he

will take the newspaper with him and drive me around town so that I can

check on my patients (he can people watch too from the car!). I'm having a

bigger problem now--the OA is getting much worse in my hands and driving

even 30 miles is nearly torture -- I keep switching hands on the wheel, but

it doesn't seem to help, it feels like someone has taken a hammer to my

hands and keeps pounding them! I'm not allowed to take ibuprofen anymore,

so I think that i'm just noticing it more.

I've actually considered doing home healt...I miss my patients

terribly and would love to get back into nursing again...the homes

are way too strenuous though as is a hospital. But I can't do any

heavy lifting and long term bending which is often required in home

health. Wonder if there is a way I could get around that...thanks

for your input.
