Guest guest
I am a nurse too, and I have done home care and am now doing home care...I have a hard time getting around in the mornings, and with this job, I don't have to....if i'm really sick, I can always move everybody to tomorrow--although, I rarely do this...I've called in sick one day in the past 7 years, through some flares where I couldn't get out of bed and thought I was truly going to die. I would/will never go on disibility and probably will never retire. I have chronic migraines and if I can't see good enough to drive, I wait until my husband gets home (at 2:30) and he will take the newspaper with him and drive me around town so that I can check on my patients (he can people watch too from the car!). I'm having a bigger problem now--the OA is getting much worse in my hands and driving even 30 miles is nearly torture -- I keep switching hands on the wheel, but it doesn't seem to help, it feels like someone has taken a hammer to my hands and keeps pounding them! I'm not allowed to take ibuprofen anymore, so I think that i'm just noticing it more. -2 kmnewberry@... _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. Guest guest
I've actually considered doing home healt...I miss my patients terribly and would love to get back into nursing again...the homes are way too strenuous though as is a hospital. But I can't do any heavy lifting and long term bending which is often required in home health. Wonder if there is a way I could get around that...thanks for your input. > I am a nurse too, and I have done home care and am now doing home care...I > have a hard time getting around in the mornings, and with this job, I don't > have to....if i'm really sick, I can always move everybody to > tomorrow--although, I rarely do this...I've called in sick one day in the > past 7 years, through some flares where I couldn't get out of bed and > thought I was truly going to die.
