Guest guest
Thanks for replies on 6MP for PSC - UC. (I feel like I could turn that into a " rap " song, but will resist the urge.) Fred's gastro also considering Remicade - what are anyone's experiences with that? I'll check Dave's resources as well. You guys are the best!! Guest guest
I have had some wonderful success on Remicade. It started working immediately! I have severe UC and have never hit remission. My entire colon is diseased(pancolitis). The PSC has complicated things and I am scheduled to have my colon removed in April, but the remicade has given me a shot at a somewhat normal life. I know there are some scary side effects that they warn you about but I haven't had ANY problems. The nurses are great and come in to check all your vitals during the infusion. I actually look forward to my infusions because no matter how bad I feel going in, I know I will be feeling great on my way out the door. I have had days with NO UC symptoms and I have been able to eat pretty much anything I wanted. While on remicade I also take entocort. I highly HIGHLy recommend the entocort instead of pred. There are less side effects and the two just seem to work awesome together! I know this may sound like a glorified testimony but just to let you know, I have tried and failed on Asacol, Pentasa, Dipentum, Colazal, Sulfasalazine, Imuran(azathioprine), and Humira. Of course prednisone too! Good luck! Holly
