Guest guest
Katy, welcome to the list. As to your question, I am not able to answer but there are many on this list that can. I just wanted to welcome you and to let you know that this is a very good group, helpful, caring, loving and supportive. Guest guest
Hello all I am 21 and I was very recently diagnosed with fibro. It has been bothering me for quite a while now, and I am so happy to finally have a name for my illness. I have a high stress job, and my boss knows that my health isn't too good. He has been asking if they ever figured out what is wrong with me. Now that I know what is wrong I'm not too sure what to tell him. I'm thinking of maybe sending him to a website, like the arthritis foundation website. I'm really not too sure what to say, and I'm still just figuring it all out myself. Any suggestions? Thanks Katy

Guest guest
Hi Katy...Hmmm...This must be a trick question...You must work for your Dad...LOL You see, your boss seems caring and interested in your health, and unfortunately, I don't know that anyone here can help you with that one! Just kidding. We are used to dealing with arrogant bosses with no concerns about an employee's health, so our general rule is to sit down and shut up. If your boss sincerely wants to know, that is your call, and the Arthritis foundation would be a great place to start. Or, sign him up on this list! Guest guest
--- I gave my boss a pamplet; he's " newer " than I am. Now he understands when I look at him at 10:30 in the morning and say, " I've tried, but my body won't let me work today. " It only happens a few times a year. He recently suffered a stress fracture in his hip while running and taking a stumble. Now he's in chronic pain for the first time in his life. He asks ME, " How do I deal with this? " Sometimes day to day, sometimes second by second. Guest guest
KATY I DO HAVE A VERY UNDERSTANDING BOSS...BUT EVEN SO WHEN I WAS FIRST DIAGNOSED I PRINTED OFF LOTS OF MATERIAL FROM THE INTERNET AND SENT IT HOME WITH HIM. FOR ME IT MADE A LOT OF DIFFERNCE. HE CAME BACK IN WITH " WHAT CAN WE AS A COMPANY DO TO HELP YOU? " AND THEY DO! MY DEPARTMENT IS LOCATED UPSTAIRS BUT I SIT DOWNSTAIRS. MOST DAYS I COULD MAKE IT. BUT SOME DAYS I CAn't AND WHO'S TO SAY THAT GOING UP AND DOWN EVERY DAY WON'T MAKE IT WORSE. WHEN THE FOG STARTED GETTING BAD...AGAIN I PRINTED MATERIAL AND GAVE IT TO HIM. HE KNOWS HOW MUCH I HAVE ALWAYS PRIDED MYSELF IN MULTI-TASKING. NOW THERE ARE MANY DAYS THAT I CAN'T GET MY MIND TO SWITCH GEARS THAT FAST. AND END UP WITH LOTS OF TEARS OF FRUSTRATION. I TRY TO KEEP THAT LINE OF COMMUNICATIONS OPEN. OF COURSE I ALWAYS TRY HUMOR TOO AND TWLL HIM IF HE SEE'S ME WANDERING AROUND WITH CIRCLES...JUST TURN ME TOWARD MY DESK. GUESS I'M JUST ON OF THE LUCKY ONES. HAVE A GREAT WEEK. SHARON > Hello all > > I am 21 and I was very recently diagnosed with fibro.
