Guest guest
Fantastic!!!!!! Isn’t it amazing how soon the new liver starts taking care of business? From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Bobbi Sent: Sunday, March 01, 2009 4:07 AM To: Subject: Re: All went well! So far, so good! We finally got to see him sometime around midnight. ICU was the part I was most nervous about. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. Fortunately most of the tubes are covered by the sheets. Seeing him on the vent was a little hard but he sort of opened his eyes when we walked in and motioned for me. After I washed my hands I walked over and held his hand. His mom and I are both spending the night in the waiting room. It's horribly uncomfortable but we'll survive. Here's something amazing that I'm sure most you will appreciate. For quite a while now his urine has looked like iced tea. Now it's nearly normal. I almost cried when I saw it! He hasn't had normal looking urine the entire time I've known him! And the jaundice is already starting to fade slightly. Looking at the pictures the OR nurse took, you can see his colon in one picture and it is even yellow. Amazing! I'll just be glad when I can put his wedding ring back on his finger and put my arms around him. What an unbelievable 24 hours!

Guest guest
I just checked the group and saw he was listed, then they had a liver, then all went well. WOW! Fantastic! May Chris's recovery go as smoothly and quickly as his time on the transplant list.
