Hi karen, and welcome!

there is a lot of useful info in here...ive been here for about 3

weeks as a " lurker " , reading, and finally got up the time and energy

to type and spell a few words right :)

(happy belated birthday!)

Lymes...wow, i have been tested for that also, and came up

negative..seems it has a lot of symptoms akin to FMS, and some

conections to suffering from FMS, from all I have heard.

Parvovirus...wow...I am a veterinary technician, and have had a lot

of experience with pups with that...is it the same virus, or a

different strain that humans get?

I truly sympathise with everything you are going thru. That one large

step was being diagnosed...as awful as FMS is, it is good to at least

finally know whats going on with you...

I know the pain you are speaking of...and offer some soft hugs to

you...

> Hi. My name is and I live in NJ. I just celebrated (if you

could say that) my 38th birthday although I feel like 90. Yesterday

I was officially diagnosed with fibro. It was a hard pill to swallow

even though I knew that this would be the diagnosis since I've

suffered for a few years now.

>

> My adult life has always been filled with alot of stresses but I

thought I handled them well however my health always suffered. In

1997 I contracted parvovirus and since then, I've never been right.

I've also had Lyme disease too but all my bloodwork for bacterial

infections were negative. So, here I sit with my new diagnosis and

trying to find out how to cope with it.

>

> The fatigue is horrendous and the pain is horrible. When someone

asks what type of pain I have - all I can tell them is that if they

were to grab my arm even lightly, it would make me want to scream and

for hours afterward I would feel their fingerprints on me. Does that

make sense?

- if you find the group - let me know. I'm very interested. Thank you!

Re: Intro...

-Hi, I talked to a lady in a chat whose child died of parvo virus.

She has a group for people who have it. From what I understand it can

cause life long problems in some people. If I can find the group I

will let you know if you are interested.

Mare, it is a different strain. It's worse in animals. As far as parvo goes in

humans, I must have never been exposed to it as a child. My children could have

had it and it went it's normal viral course but it got me good. I had a rash

that was like a lacey type of a rash on my torso and legs. Then I had bad flu

like symptoms followed by unbelievable fatigue and arthralgia. (Gee, similar to

what I have now but it was a bit worse then). I was bedridden for about 6

months and then one day I woke up and it was gone. Then two years ago after my

daughter was born, I got it again. They used to say that once you get it you

are immune but my bloodtests showed that I had a past and present infection from

parvo.
