Guest guest
Hi ! Hi everybody! There is a lot of information on www.prolotherapy.com . Let me try and put this in words here, it will be only what I remember, not scientific. The solution injected causes an inflamation. Therefore the bloodflow to the area will be increased and then the body's natural healing mechanism takes over. You are sore after injections. This is nothing that takes pain away right away!! The injections get easier as you go on, but also less effective. Long term it helped me a lot, it is normal that it takes quite a while for the body to get rid of all the stuff and toxins that is not supposed to be there anyway. I did a set of 4 injections first, four weeks apart, then I took three or four months off therapy for healing. Then I evaluated progress and it was the best thing I ever did. Then I went back for more injections. I also read the book " prolo your pain away " It gave me the confindence that this is something I can try. I also don't think that there are very bad side effects from the injections if it doesn't work. The book and the website explain very well why steroids and anti-inflamatories don't work. In my case that is. Not everybody is the same. Prolotherapy is not covered by all insurances, but my doctor only charges $195 for a set of injections. My husband has a back injury and workers comp will not pay for Prolo. Oh, I forgot to mention: my low back pain used to be bad! It would also keep me from riding a bike. Last summer I bought a new bike. My low back only hurts occasionally, after working too hard. I don't care what anybody says about Prolo, not physical therapy, chiropracter, nobody took the pain away like Prolo did!!! this is a major improvement for me!! My neck is my other problem area. That improved a lot. Before I continue with it, I need to control stress, so that the tension is not caused by stress or depression. Once I am more comfortable knowing that stress is not a major cause of my pain, then I will continue treatment. Too many causes for pain can't be eliminated at the same time. Every body is different, but for me is was worth a try!! I had no other options that were this promising!!! Botox sounded very scary, but with the pain I'm in I would have done that too, but I wouldn't do it now. If your alternative is doing NOTHING then you have nothing to loose! Good Luck!!
