Guest guest
Hi there I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis 6 months ago and they did blood tests at the time and said they were all normal. Since then have been on Pentasa and have stayed in remission (my UC was just in the last bit of the colon and rectum and the biopsy described it as being mild to moderate). However, in the last month I have developed what I would describe as a mild itch, mainly on my scalp, face, arms, legs and around my waist. It seems to be where my clothes are tightest on me. It's fairly easy to rid the itch just by rubbing it and so doesn't bother me that much. However, reading up the symptoms online makes it sound like it could be PSC. I don't feel unwell in anyway other than the itch. I spoke to my doc who said that I should have blood tests (which I did this morning) and she said it was most likely a side effect of the medication. I didn't mention the possibilty of PSC to her. Based on others' experiences, does it sound like the beginnings of the symptoms of PSC? Is it likely that my blood tests would be normal 6 months ago and now I am itching as a result of PSC? And would you expect the itch to be mild at first getting progressively worse - or does it just totally vary from person to person? I know I should just wait for my blood tests - but I can't stand the wait! I can't concentrate on anything else. Really appreciate anyone's feedback.
