Guest guest
Stefanie, Hi! I'm not sure if anyone got back to you yet or not. Throwing up can sometimes be a symptom of PSC. I myself have severe nausea with my PSC. If you're sure it's not the flu or something she ate, etc. you may want to talk to her PSC/GI doctor about it. I have been told that nausea can increase from bile buildup. It's also a VERY common side effect to medications. Has she started any new meds? You mention she also has UC. UC can also cause nausea, particularly if stool is building up instead of being passed through (which isn't usually the case with UC to my understanding) but can definitely happen and since when are we PSCers usual. I'm hoping her nausea is now a thing of the past. If it's not, some non-medications that I have found somewhat effective are crytalized ginger (at Whole Foods, Trader Joes, on line, etc.) It tastes a bit like spicy candy so you may be able to get her to eat it. Ginger altoids also can work in a pinch. If you have Rite Aids near you, they usually carry them. It doesn't work for me often, but I've had doctors who swear by sugar or sweets. They say that sweets or hard candy/lollipops or gum can help to ease nausea, too. Hope all the nausea's a thing of the past! Guest guest
Hi Stefanie, From my own experience i suffer with the feeling of neusea alot, as to y i'm not entirely sure, could be the medication or just PSC. I do know that when i do actually throw up its def the PSC, either i've got an infection - sore throat, ear ache, cold, flu and my body just cant cope with it bacause of the PSC or because i'm having a cholangitis attack. I seem to throw up constantly every few hours until i get anti bio's. Hope this helps
