Guest guest
Athena, This disease is doing what it does to all of us at times, hitting you hard and fast. The Prednisone (Is that the steroid you are on?) should help with the pain, at least while you are on it, and it will give you a break from the worst of the flaring. Are you taking Plaquenil, now? If not, see what your Rheumy will do in that line. You may have to take steroids for a while, off and on until the Plaquenil starts to work. It can take from two to six months for the benefits to be apparent, but it DOES work. I am living proof. The form I take is Hydroxychloriquine. It is much easier on the bowel and nervous system than the old form of the drug...and tastes better, too, since it is coated now to disguise the bitter taste of quinine. Keep us posted on your progress, and know that we are here for you any time. Loving hugs, MM

Guest guest
The last week has been so bad; I'm having the worst flare since being Diagnosed in March with Lupus, The pain is from my toes to fingertips, throbbing, aching feeling. I never had a feeling like this, I can't even pick my arms up to brush my own hair. I called my Rheumy and she put me on a 6 day course of steroids 4mg. This is my first time being on them. I been taking pain meds but not even strong Narcotic are easing my pain. I just want to crawl in bed and not move, I can't eat I have no appetite. The doctor's tell me the Disease is progressing and will have to start treating me more aggressively what does that mean? What is this disease doing to me?
