That might be a little more border line on the benefits. You need

just the right amount of ewxposure.......if to much exposure then the

vitamin D break down and does not form right. The pigmentation in

your skin is also a factor.

I know back when I used to tan regularly (twice a week) it was the

most relaxing thing. I really noticed an improvement in my general

sense of well-being. Might have just been the light warding off my

predisposition to SADD... you know, when you get depressed during

the time of year when the days are shorter. Was curious as to

whether there was also a thyroid connection in that since I do have

Hashi's.

As for pigmentation... I'm white white white! (mom's a redhead and

I must have got a lot of that) lol... when I went out into the sun

as a younger person (and now) I've never been one to lay out... I

would burn and get freckled all over. Interestingly, the tanning

bed actually resulted in a tan. The only time in my life before and

since. I find it odd.

My doctor told me that even full-spectrum fluorescent light bulbs don't give

the benefit of actual sunlight, so I highly doubt that a tanning bed would.

but then, wouldn't it follow that the tanning bed will help the

thyroid if it helps the SAD? or am I making an unconnected leap?
