Dear , would you consider going on TPN up to the day of your surgery. I

did it that way and others who had the pancreatectomy and islet cell

transplant. I made sure that I stayed on TPN to give me strength for the

surgery. I am sorry that you have not received the proper care. I found

that to be the case for me also until I went to MN. Good Luck and I will be

praying for you. Shirley

,

you've got my prayers that someone helps you soon. Someone's

got to have their head on straight. How long is your GI

supposed to be vacation? I'd make a complaint to JCAHO for

sure.

I don't understand everything that you are telling me. Are you saying

that you have the shakes because of pain meds? If so why are you trying to

get off them. Dr. Sutherland operates on people who are on pain meds and

when they are discharged from MN hospital their doc at home gradually reduces

their meds. I am concerned about your bP and your low weight. You make that

doc put you on tpn and stay on it until they put you under for the surgery.

They will remove it from you. Take care and I will be praying for you. Oct

I'm also from N'awlins Dawlin. I'm 29 soon to be thirty. I was wondering

what GI doc you see and if you were going to MN to have the Islet Cell surgery.

I'm leaving on the 16 of Oct for MN and will be operated on the 21

Dr. Sutherland will be doing my surgery which will be the Pancreatectomy

with an Islet cell transplant.

Dr. Creely did my whipple in March of 2001 which was a complete

success for almost two years and then problems.

He recommended Dr.Sutherland so I am excited that this will do the trick I

have been in contact with Dr.Sutherland who essures me that this will correct

any problems that I have.

If you also go to ejgh let me know I am a frequent flyer there.

I know what it is!!!!! It's all this good fatinning food that we have and

are known for....

Well Good luck,

J.

Nawlins

P.S. glad to hear your home and are feeling a little better I hope.:-)
