Guest guest
Hi ; > > I adore your son already!! I find these kids often have an abiltity to " discern " what's good/bad that's unclouded by social conventions that are second nature to most of us. You'd really love how well he handles my mother; who strikes me as a real borderline personality; very manipulative. He masters her like a pro!LOL > > > The isolation also comes from having very limited time/energy/resources left after taking care of the priorities. I've joined some lists/groups, helped to charter a couple of lists, and a moms' network. Some groups are ok for info but because it's rarer in girls it's even harder to find a good " fit " like this list. I know, I feel the same way. I started off being hyperthyroid (runs in my family), having some sort of thyroiditis, having a partial thyroidectomy to get rid of a suspcious nodule. Then, these ladies (Janie, , Cindi, and many others!) helped to save my life. I am now on 3 and 1/4 grains of armour and am doing ok. If it weren't for these ladies, I can only imagine the miserable, puzzled state I'd be in. I'm also caring for my 91 year old grandma; but she will probably be flying down to join my mother within the next couple of weeks. > > If we were close enough, we could let our kids fix lunch and we could have Armour/chocolate breaks! LOL Sounds good to me,lol! My son loves to cook. He also teases me about my thyroid probem. One day, when we were doing math, I was being really spaced out and boneheaded as only a thyroid person understands. After catching me in a few mistakes, my son said, " You know, you really are a thyroid sufferer! Did you forget to take your medication? " I'm ashamed to admit that I did, lol. Later in the year, when we were at Disney World, he bought me a Dory fish (from " Finding Nemo " )to goof on my memory. > > I am very interested in treating my DD for thyroid and adrenal issues. My iris wobbles at 7seconds or so with the flashlight test. My (unmedicated!!) daughter's pupils are dialated and so far she won't let me do the test on her. > ... My son informed me that he wanted to be tested, because he felt pressure on his neck when he lies down. He also hates having shirts on because of the neckline. So, I requested the bloodwork (he always gets his thyroid palpated by the doctor; especially since I alerted them to my problem) ;...and then he was terrified to go! So, I used reverse psychology, and said, " OK you let me know when we can go " So, he got himself together, and we took him; only to have the phlebotomist unsuccessful at drawing his blood! duh! So now we have to go thru this all over again! > > >Sim > > >
