Age range: Desperately clinging to 29 for 2 more months Male/female: Female What are the symptoms? IBS, body aches and pains, severe pain, joint pain, extreme fatigue, depression Has you illness been diagnosed? Yes - Sept. 2001 How long did you suffer before you got help? 4 years Is there a time that you can remember when it started? Shortly after I got married (although I don't think there's a direct connection) Some of us have found lack of exercise we are overweight. Have you found this to be a problem also? OMG, yes! Are you on disability? I'm working on getting a 4 day workweek through the ADA and am also working on getting FMLA for when I need to take additional time off. What have you found that helps ease the pain, warm baths, medications etc.? Acupuncture, massage, warm baths, yoga and swimming when I'm not flaring. I also take Vioxx, Vicodin and Xanaflex. I am also an avid supporter of Tiger Balm. Do you have sleep problems? How do you deal with it? Yes - I take Doxepin when I can't sleep. I also have PTSD and take Zyprexa when I am having a PTSD flare with a lot of nightmares. Do you have family that understands your illness? My husband and his family and friends are extremely supportive - more than I could ask for! Some have found certain foods causes problems with CFS or Fibro, have you? Most aged foods - like olives, red wine, really aged cheeses, caffeine in excess. What type of Doctor have you found that has helped you the most? Rheumatologist - I love my rhuemy and her staff so much! They have been my lifeline this past year!
