Guest guest
Well, I have read the posts on Cortef in response to my email, and just feel like I don't respond the same way as others do. About 2 months ago, I started the adrenal protocol, and did really well with it for about a month, then started getting hyper symptoms (heart pounding, etc.) and decided I was on too much thyroid. I dropped my Armour dose from 2 1/2 grains to 2 1/4. I also ended up greatly decreasing my adrenal support (glandulars) from 3 or 4 tablets a day to about 1 per day. Then, about a month ago, I started Cortef, my doctor said a small dose often helps people. I played with the dosing, and found that when I took really small doses I seemed to get symptoms of way too little cortisol (like I had increased pains, sleepiness, sugar lows), and am now up to 12 1/5 mgs per day. My doctor does not want me to go any higher. The cortef has nearly eliminated my pretty significant carpal tunnel syndrome pain, and also various other pains I have had for the past few years. I am generally sleeping better, and don't get up to pee at night much. And I don't have much of an afternoon slump. My problem is, in this same time, I have again developed mild bouts of depression, some constipation, and weight gain, which I associate with too little thyroid. I was depressed last night, and just for an experiment I tried an extra 1/4 grain of Armour. Well, withing 30 minutes, my depression lifted and I felt like myself. However, this morning, I again felt some mild pounding! I know I am not balanced yet, but don't know what to do. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. R.
