Hi Irene,

We've just moved into a new (old, but new to us), house and I've been

trying to get cartons unpacked, plus repairing many things in the

house that we didn't notice when we were looking at it to buy, so I

really know how you feel. Yes, we do have to operate at our own

paces, or else, get absolutely nothing done. I stay tired and of

course, like we all know, the pain is constantly there. Recently, I

had a great reminder of how things really can be accomplished a

little at a time. It was an episode of MASH on TV. A chopper pilot

picked up a wounded soldier. But the two disappeared for about 18

hours. The Mash (Medic) Unit was worried, then relieved when the two

showed up the next day. The chopper pilot was really concerned about

getting his helicopter repaired as he had a broken fan belt. Before

the wounded soldier regained conscience (sp?) the pilot was already

gone from the area. Then the wounded soldier told the story of how

the two of them made it to the MASH Unit with a broken fan belt.

Here's how we can make it also: The pilot would fly 200 yards, at

which point the helicoper would begin to over heat. He then would

set the chopper down and walk to find another place 200 yards nearer

the MASH Unit, that he could once again park the ailing chopper.

Then he'd walk back to the chopper, which by then, would be cooled

off enough to fly another 200 yards. The pilot spent that night

taking care of the young, wounded soldier. Then at sunrise the next

morning, the process began again, until they finally made it to the

MASH Unit. Yes, we can make it, even if it's just a few steps at a

time....after all, ALL journeys begin with just a few steps. I know

this was just a fictional story on TV, but it really hit home with

me. I know if I just sit (which I really can't do), the pain won't

get any better, and I'm afraid my joints will get stiffer. So, even

if I just work in the yard for 5 to 10 minutes and then rest, It's a

whole lot better than just wishing I could do it....and, eventually,

my work will begin to show.

Hope you have a wonderful time in London.
