Guest guest
I was reading a book I have last night, Prescription for Nutritional Healing, and found this line in there: Other possible causes that have been proposed include infection with the Epstein-Barr virus(EBV), the virus that causes infectious mononucleosis. When I was about 14 I was very sick with Mono to the point they thought I had Leukemia because of all my white cells. Ever since that I have not felt well. I have always thought that was when I got the Fibro because I was told you get it from a serious illness or accident in your life. Mononucleosis How many of you with Fibro have had Mono? Guest guest
I never had mono. I didn't have an accident or serious illness either. My fibro showed up after 5 surgeries in 5 years. I've also heard you can develop fibro after some type of shock to the system. I believe that is how I developed it. I remember maybe about 10 years ago, there were reports that Cher had CFS. At that time, it was believed that CFS was related to the Epstein Barr virus, but not so any more. I guess not alot is being spent on research is because Fibro doesn't kill anyone. I think I remember seeing Preston ( Travolta's wife) on TV, talking how her mom has fibro. It would be nice to know what causes Fibro, and how to treat it successfully. But it is almost like the common cold - there are so many different versions of Fibro, how can they narrow it down to one or two types of treatments. One of the problems is there are still many doctors that don't even believe in Fibro. They make you feel like you are out of your mind, or you are making it up. The best think I ever did was join a support group. At least I didn't feel so alone anymore. Koala-t hugs, Cathy
