Guest guest
I know I have been lax... forgive me, but there has been little to tell. Well, Rob took him to Pitt this week... I couldn't take the loss time at the new job. Broke my heart not to go, but it is a full day off to go. All looked well on exam. Dr. S and Dr. K felt he was doing fine. they dropped his Urso back from the high dose to the normal dose... new research supports doing that I guess. We might drop it eventually altogether. Blood work came back Thursday. AST and ALT were elevated... but normal baseline elevated for Noah. So really nothing to worry about. What you would expect from a fibrotic liver. Dr. K's nurse did call and his Vitamin B12 was low... so we are given 1 month to supplement orally and then we will be giving him injections if that does not come up. Anyone have experience with that? I bet that is more UC related? Although I bet liver kiddos don't retain the B vitamins too... even though my thought is the colon just won't absorb it and it just slides right through. So that is the long and short of it with him. Would love to hear anyone's ideas on the B12. Interesting to me since we looked at B vitamins over a year ago with him with all the Alzheimer's like symptoms and now he is acting normal and NOW is deficient. GO FIGURE?!
