OMG! So I guess all of those books we read are wrong too. I'd look at him

Man you can say that again! I have heard several times about all the BED

misinformation on the Internet! LOL Of course then you go one step further and

bring in printed copies of studies, reports and websites written by real thyroid

experts. And IF they bother to look at them at all, they just glance through and

say what a bunch of kooks. I think ONE doctor I went to actually acted

interested in reading my 200 pages IO brought to the last 7-8 doctors I went to

He did give me Armour but was still monitoring it by my TSH and telling me how

normal my thyroid was.. so I don;t miss him!

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and

cackling, telling me, " You're next. " They stopped after I started doing the

same thing to them at funerals

Kathy,

That's the same attitude I got from my endo - " Don't believe

everything you see on the internet " . Doesn't it tick you off????

It's funny that kids are allowed to use the Internet for research

for school, but when we try to do the same we're told not to believe

what we read!

Now I'm trying to train my pcp doctor - he wanted to double my

Armour from 60 to 120 all at once - I told the nurse to tell him it

should only go up 15 to 30mg at a time. Took a whole day for her to

check with him & get back to me (bet he was reading up on it). So he

gave me a prescription for 15 and then one for 90, but only gave me

2 weeks of the 15mg, and the pharmacy only filled that one, said

call when I'm ready for the next. They must think I'm going to

OD!! :-)

Plus, he has me staying at the 90 for 3 months, and then do another

blood draw - I asked what & he only wants TSH. Duh! So when the time

comes, I'll make another appointment and provide him with

documentation of why he shouldn't look at the TSH and why I need to

see the frees!

Boy, this just makes me so mad! Sorry I'm going on & on!!!

Hi Joyce,

The way I figure, they're askin' for it. My doc is lucky I didn't

kill him yesterday out of frustration. I AM menopausal you know,

and that is my excuse for all my behavior these days.

Gosh, Joyce, do you think you need an anti-depressant, too? LOL

They are such idiots! It must drive them crazy that they're not

pulling the wool over our eyes anymore. We know too much and they

hate it. I guess I was the one being " uncooperative " , ha-aaaaa!

I am menopausal, too - at least he said so 4 years ago - that was

also when he first tested my thyroid. Put me on HRT, (estrogen &

progesterone)...now I read too much estrogen can cause Graves',

which is what I ended up after 2 years on HRT.....Could it be his

fault? LOL I was fairly stable on Synthroid so endo said go back to

primary care guy. He tested TSH only, and it was 0.18, so he thought

I was hyper & decreased my dosage - made me MORE hypo - Idiot! He

also laughed about me putting on 50 lbs, said that was why my knees

& ankles hurt! Hello!!!

So I really need to look for a new doctor, too! Not many around

here, though (Maine) - my sister-in-law is now going to Boston for

her thyroid/pituitary problems!

I'm hoping that if Armour works for me like it has for everybody

else here - I can stop taking the Fosamax (I have osteoporosis, big

surprise!) which can damage my liver....

Yes, I'm depressed! But I don't need an anti-depressant, I need a

new doctor! :-) Good luck to you & hang in there - this group is

great help!!!!!
