Guest guest
Hi Dave, You and your wife and family will definitely be added to my prayer list. And I have a large email group that are great prayer warriors and will forward your email to them. I have an opposite problem. My husband has severe COPD (lost a lung to cancer and the other is bad due to asbestosis, so he has very bad breathing problems and a short life span left). He is taking care of me. I have to stay in bed practically all the time due to falling and seizures and fainting and someone has to be here with me all the time. I think he is shortening his life by taking care of everything-grocery shopping, cooking, dishwashing, clothes washing, etc. But he won't let our son and dau-in-law do anything to help. They would do anything for us but he has such pride. Says he isn't going to sit on his butt and let others do as long as he can manage. After I was in the hospital for 11 days in March and got dx and my 2 sisters saw me in a loss of consciousness seizure they now come over once a week " to visit " me and while here they wash, mop, clean the house. He got real bad last Friday and we ended up taking him to ER this morning. Well actually he drove himself and my sister took me with her. He spent his time in there worrying about me and wanting my sister to take me home and put me to bed. They said his COPD is just getting worse and would continue to get worse. I feel like it is my fault. I also have some heart problems they are trying to figure out that has to be done before I can have surgery. I just feel like my Chiari is killing him. But he is just so stubborn about anyone else taking care of me. We have been married 35 1/2 years. Will pray for your wifes return and your SS disability. That is stressful, I know as we went through it with my husband. A suggestion: After he was turned down by SS a friend informed him that he got his by a Congressman writing SS and " inquiring " about the progress. He was scheduled to have his meeting with a judge when SS informed him they had " reconsidered " and he got his disability. So that is what we did. We didn't use our Congressman who is Tom Delay. We went through another one, a Democrat, out of Houston. His office sent us a letter to fill out about why we felt we wouldn't be very well represented by Tom Delay. He sent a letter to SS cc us. He got letter back from SS that had been approved, they had looked over his application again and decided he was disabled that he copied and sent to us. So SS notified him before we were notified. After our letter to that congressman he was approved within 2 months. Now the catch to our good luck is my husband was in the union. And they were big contributors to this paticular congressman. At any rate you have nothing to lose by just going to your Congressman's local office and trying. In Christ, Bobbie, Texas Prayers Needed > Hello everyone. My name is Dave and I have been out of work since May 22, 2001, due to chiari. My wife has been trying to support the family of six. I am still waiting for my hearing for SSDI and just went to mediation for my workers comp, which now will go to a hearing. She is a good woman, she is just tired of waiting. > > I don't know where she has gone to, but she needs your pray's, along with my kids. Guest guest
This is from a member of a group of people with the same brain disorder I have- Arnold Chiari Malformation. It is very debilitating for some people. Some of you do not know this about me. I just found out in March after 5 months spent in bed because of falling, fainting, seizures. I have to have someone with me at all times. And pretty much makes me stay in bed because he is afraid I will hurt myself when I fall, faint, passout. Hopefully I will have surgery in the next couple of months and this nightmare will be over. So Dave and I need all the prayers we can get! This is pretty rare so most doctors, even neurologists, do not know anything about it. SS is hard to get anyway. But add something rare no one knows about and I would assume it is a nightmare. I haven't tried for it yet. To: chiari > Sent: Tuesday, May 20, 2003 12:27 AM Subject: Prayers Needed > Hello everyone. My name is Dave and I have been out of work since May 22, 2001, due to chiari. Guest guest
Reggie, Hi! Thanks for letting us know. I knew transplant was soon for her, but had no idea the day was here. I'll send Ali an e-mail tonight letting her know she's got all the prayers I can manage heading her way. In the meantime, if you see her, will you give her a squeeze from me and tell her I'm here if she needs me! Thanks again! Guest guest
Lord we lift up Alison, and their families to you and ask that they would know your presence and that at this time they would feel your peace and comfort and rest in the knowledge that you are a God of love who can heal and restore, we pray for each one of us who have been touched by this condition one way or another and pray that we too would have faith and look to you during hard times knowing you hear us and care for us, and Lord we once again pray for a cure, a breakthrough that could change so many lives, wherever two or more are gathered there you will be so together we lift this prayer to you and especially that you would protect Aison and stephen as they face surgery and for their family through it all, in Jesus name, Amen
