Guest guest
Ok, this is wierd. Friday night I read on one of the pedi-chelating lists that slathering on some OTC hydrocortisone cream might help some littles with adrenal issues. (I consider myself one of God's littles.) So you know I tried it. I slathered a palm-full where my bra-line used to be on my tummy and, yes, I confess, I didn't wash my hand, I just read and fell asleep. Yesterday, I noticed that a tremor in my right that I have associated (wrongly??) for a [phone - brb!] few years with my MS is GONE. My hand was steady all day, so i used some more hydorcortisone cream again in rubbed into my right hand and, today, the tremor is still gone. I feel subtly better in some places, like inside my chest. Well the phone call was Mom. Good ol' Mom. I explained to her every thing that I said, above, and got that dead silence at the end of the line. Then, " uh, is that from that doctor-person? " " no, Mom, I don't go back to see him until next week. " " well, be careful, your dad took that. " " Mom, I'm not 'taking' adrenal-suppressive doses of cortisone. I used some OTC cream and my hand stopped shaking. " Dead silence, you know, it's the telephone version of the barely raised eyebrow on an otherwise perfectly impassive face. It says you can't possibly know what you're doing, nothing you ever do is worth wasting a smile on, in fact, you have no value at all. " Are you there, Mom? " More silence, just for emphasis. " Yes, how's my granddaughter? " " Fine, Mom. " " Well the coverage starts pretty soon. " " Ok, Mom, thanks for being happy that I found something that helped me. " " Be careful. " " Thanks, Mom. " Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between a heart that aches and an aching heart. I'm glad I can write to strangers who " get " that I'm trying to get better. ....christina
