My husband is a retired federal employee and I am covered by his medical benefit. Under no circumstances should you drop the FEHB coverage. The drug costs alone can kill you without the benefit. Consider the cost of Urso- you can't get comperable coverage anywhere. Similarly, with medicare the FEHB plan becomes your medigap policy. You can't buy this medical/drug benefit anywhere for any price. It's our reward for years of being underpaid civil servants.

HI, I have a question regarding Medicare and Health insurance. My husband will be eligible for Medicare starting Jan. 2009, he was also a federal gov employee so we have been covered by FEHB. In your opinions if anyone has done this, is it better to keep our medicare part A and continue with our FEHB. we have great coverage and never any problems with care he needs. thanksBecky Steffanic
