Guest guest
Thank you all for your support, thoughts and prayers.. We have been dealing with this Transplant center since 2007. My husband was listed with a 17 MELD score in Oct 2007. We just never heard anything from the center except when they needed updated MELDS. We were told (even though Kelley has had many bleeding episodes) that 17 was not a high enough score to be truly considered. They said a MELD of 20 or higher might get us noticed. Now Kelley is too sick.I did meet with the transplant coordinator on Friday. She said that to stay with UAMS I must follow their rules. I do not believe for one minute that this center has it's act together. Our primary liver care has come from the Veterans Hospital. They have been very good to us, but refused early on to transplant Kelley. They said his heart was a risk factor. Ironically, his heart is the only strong part of his body working on its own right now. Love to you all. Laurie
