Guest guest
I have primary Raynauds. It is not an effect of hypo but is another condition that is autoimmune in nature. What I have is the disease itself. People that have secondary Raynauds have it as an effect, not the cause. Since my ferritin is up and am on over 3 grains of thyroiod meds, it is much better. My fingers haven't turned almost black when I am upset or cold in a while. Just a white and red, There is lots of info on the net about it, but no real effective treatment they say. Just keep hands and feet warm. By the way, I also have it on my nose! Ever heard of Raynauds Syndrome? I was diagnosed today with this weird thing. Its a circulatory problem in my fingers and toes. Very weird. I asked the podiatrist if it could be thyroid related, and he said he didnt know... I looked it up, and it is related (or can be) to hypo. Anyone know much about this? I have been having totally bizarre things going on, and frankly, it always seems to come back to being hypo. I want to scream, but I dont have the energy, it would turn into a loud yawn. My Dad used to tell my brother that when they were passing out brains, he must have gotten in the wrong line. I think when they were passing out normal health, I GOT IN THE WRONG LINE! Guest guest
My father has it, and I've had the symptoms - they're better now that my thyroid is being taken care of and I've quit smoking. Avoid the cold, wear mits instead of gloves, and if you smoke, quit! Nat > I have primary Raynauds. It is not an effect of hypo but is another condition that is autoimmune in nature. Guest guest
Yeah, I quit smoking and used to smoke 4 packs a day. I lived in AK when I was dxed. They thought I had diabetes because I had the severe sores that come from lack of blood supply. It was finally dxed by a rhuem Dr because they deal with autoimmune diseases. Strange, I wasn't tested or dxed for Hashi for another 10 years. Now that I am in CA, my nose is most affected with the cold. Stress still is a major trigger for an attack on my hands and feet. They say of the people that have primary, only 1% get nose issues. Figures I would be one. Re: Ever heard of Raynauds Syndrome? Guest guest
You sound like my mother, Jamy - she ended up winning the autoimmune lottery; RA, Hashi's, psoriasis and she's got OA as well. Guest guest
OA ???? I am lucky I guess. When I found my biological mother it seems that MS and RA run in the family, but luckily I didn't get those Re: Ever heard of Raynauds Syndrome? Guest guest
One has nothing to do with the other except if you were hypo it would make the symptoms worse but Raynalds is not a thyroid issue. Pople say when they have cold hands that they have Raynalds. It is not cold hands, It is a severe painful spasm that cuts of blood supply. Amputations are common! Re: Ever heard of Raynauds Syndrome? Guest guest
that is just about right. The great treatment like it is all in our head and we should get a husband and go on a diet!
