Guest guest
I CHECKED OUT THE STEVITA TOO. I PERSONALLY like the NOW brand because THERE ARE NO FILLERS IN IT to make it spoonable...just the pure stuff. A little bit will go a L O N G way....that is why it is so pricey in bluck. 16 oz of the pure stuff IS A LOT...they have like a 1 OZ size too. I personally do not care for paying for a bunch of filler, but I have tried the stuf with filler too... it is more spoonable which may be a preference for some people. Question for JANE: Hae you ever baked with STEVITA? Is it any bettr for baking than pure STEVIA? ~Inga on 3/4/05 7:58 PM, Ingrid Mager-Renault at wolfiebear@... wrote: > > iHerb.com > Get the NOW brand. Inga, I've only baked with Stevita, and it's just as lousy as artificial sweeteners. LOL. Janie

Guest guest
thanks everyone for the stevia info...i'll check the links, etc. i mostly want to use it for my 2 cups of coffee in the morning....but also since i have had to stop drinking milk, I do drink a lot of iced tea (yes, i know - flouride) but am looking for something other than sugar to sweeten it. i guess stevia would be okay for that? cindi

Guest guest
I've baked with Stevia a lot and it tends to loose some of it's sweetness in baking. It is a little sensitive to heat. Since I am not diabetic, I will often add a small amount of sugar, honey or molasses with the stevia to improve the final product. Just a tablespoon or two of one of those in a recipie seems to improve it a lot. When you divide it over 20 servings or something, you are getting very little sugar.
