Subject: help me please

Ok. It s time to get off my butt and stop worrying that I will be turned

down by the insurance company. I just sent out my letters for patient

contacts and also anyone here who would like to help me out with those...I

would be forever grateful.

Please let me know if this is right. Can I go ahead and do all of this

before filling out the patient info online?

Patient manual is already printed out and starting to look 100 years old

from all the reading and rereading :-)

I am waiting to fill out my patient info (online) because I do not have

insurance " yet " !! (I called BCBS of Miss today and they are mailing me info

on the policy and I am still waiting on policy info at Great West. I emailed

Dr R's office a couple of weeks ago and asked if they have ever dealt with GW

but no answer yet so I am waiting patiently)

Can I go ahead and see my PCP for my assessment and get his support letter?

(He gives me the letter to send in with the packet?)

Get my history and physical done?

Get a copy of my significant past medical records? (All I have are 2 vaginal

births and 1 c-section.)

Do I need copies of all my yearly paps? Just the last few years or not at

all?

Awaiting emails from prospective contacts.

Family support letter?

Patient letter?

Dangers of alcohol?

Photographs (front and side full body and facial photographs; name, present

address, contact telephone number and body weight at the time of the

photograph wrote on the back?).

Then ......arrive on a Monday for clinic on a Tues. Surgery on a Wed, back

to hotel on Thurs (I hope) and going home on Tues?

Do I have this all correct? Please let me know if I forget anything or

added to much. Thanks everyone. I have put this off long enough for fear of

being turned down but I have talked with my family and done some soul

searching and I know its time to do what I have to and what I can and put the

rest in Gods hands. He will take care of it.

I am waiting to hear for approval from Dr. Rutledge - no expert or anything.

I would definitely get to my PCP 1st to get his approval because what happens

if he denies (I've read some e-mails where their PCP did not go along with

them-some MDs can be close-minded or just be uncomfortable because they have

not have heard of it yet). I dropped off a copy of the patient manuel to my

PCP about a week ahead of my appointment with the letter to the Dr from Dr

Rutledge. I wrote a letter to my PCP & said " I know you are busy & I didn't

want to hit you with all this during my appointment in case you wanted to

glance at it ahead of time & we can talk more at my appointment " . My MD is

pretty progressive & he didn't say but I am not sure he had heard of it .

Also the more MD's we can educate by our asking for the procedure-the better.

Also I only had 2 surgeries - had a tonsillectomy at 6yo & exploratory

laparoscopy about 13 yrs ago (I was living out of state & don't even remeber

the name of the Dr). I wrote this out but they e-mailed me the next day &

said they needed past medical records-I didn't want to bother Dr.R with pap

smear results & blood test results but that was all I had to send & maybe it

is helpful to him- I went about 6 years back. I would also think if you are

responsible enough to go in for pap smears on a regular basis that it would

look good for you as far as following up with your PCP for the vitamin &

mineral deficiency check. I was thrilled, however with how quickly they got

back to me to say my packet was incomplete.

Everything else you've written is how I understood it--good summary!!! But I

haven't been accepted yet-that is just how I did it.

Best of luck

Me too!! Any barometric change in the weather (and this includes humidity)

throws me into a tailspin. The worst words a weatherman can utter is,

" There's a front coming through. " I just put my head in my hands and think -

here we go!

On top of everything, we moved this past Thursday. I have moved and unpacked

more boxes than I care to admit. This combined with the stress of moving has

not been kind to my body. I feel like one big knot. I'm so exhausted, I

can't even feel fatigued - does that make sense???

The bottoms of my feet which have been extremely sensitive for the last year,

are now in constant, excruciating pain. I'm ready to donate them - anyone

want them?

I've got my monthly massage lined up for later this week - thank goodness!!

Last time I was there, she was started to work on me and said, " What the heck

is going on here " . She had to give up on 2 knots as they simply would not

release.

Wonder how many she'll find this time? :-)

Keeping my spirits up in spite of it all.....

G.
