Guest guest
Did someone say they found a place they could get Armour without a prescription? thanks, Robin new tsh level Hi all, I just spoke with the endocrinologist..he said my TSH came down from 9.55 to 2.54. This is with taking 45 mg / 30 mg daily. The conversation was stressful as he said.. I'll change your prescription from 15mg. to 60mg. and just take one per day.. ugh.. this was after I told him I take it 2x per day. He started in with the sublingual thing again, saying I won't need as much if I swallow.. so I practically begged him to see that the dose I'm taking now is working.. and I've only been on this dose for less than 2 weeks.. I'm figuring I'll have to up it soon.. anyway.. I guess I have to take what he gives me.. and try to work with it.. I still have another prescription from him for 15mg.. I think I'll get that filled too. Can anyone tell me if the TSH at 2.54 is really ok? thanks so much, Robin, feeling very frustrated and angry that I pay for medical insurance, but still can't get what I need. Guest guest
According to the new ranges, a TSH of 2.54 would qualify for an initial diagnosis and a triel of meds. It is elevated and NOT ok. Sorry for the doc-induced frustration. Cheers, Friday > > Hi all, > I just spoke with the endocrinologist..he said my TSH came down from 9.55 to 2.54. Guest guest
Thanks Friday.... that's even more upsetting to hear that 2.54 TSH is beginning of elevation... not normal as he says... Is there something I can look at in the files about this? thanks, Robin Re: new tsh level According to the new ranges, a TSH of 2.54 would qualify for an initial diagnosis and a triel of meds. Guest guest
Ok... I'm calling the doctor back to find out what my other ranges are... I know that one of the tests was free t4 and regular t3...not free t3. what is wrong with these people (m.d.'s.) that they arn't up on what is truly correct??? Thank you so very much for the address of where to get Armour without a prescription.. how can they do that? Thank you anyway! I'm going to contact them this a.m. Thank you all so very much... now I'm sure my blood pressure is up from the interaction with him this morning.. better go meditate or take a walk/run at the marina. Robin where:? so. california.. marina del rey area on the coast.. the only saving grace of living here..hope to leave for Oregon sometime in the near future. What:? psychotherapist and out of print book sales.. possibly back to selling Real Estate if I ever feel 'that' good! just turned a youthful 61 and feeling pretty good these days, at least compared to how I felt before I started Armour at the beginning of February. thank you all again for your unbelievable support! Mine was .01 the last time I had it checked and I take more thyroid now than then. We have sources for ordering your own meds online, all you have to do is ask & I can send you a list. I can;t do it for you or make that decision for you, but let me tell you after 25 years of the damage doctors sis to me adjusting my thyroid by my TSH.. You really should NOT use that test as a determining factor. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Fat cat? Diabetes? I'm also thinking of just taking care of my thyroid on my own with the help of this list.. it's a lot less expensive, and information coming from this list makes so much more sense to me. thank you, Robin zami@... Guest guest
Robin, everyone of us have been where you are at. that's how we came to finally say enough is enough. Since you've only mentioned TSH, I'm guessing that's the only thing your dr is dosing you by? If so, time to fire him/her and get somebody with some intelligence who knows about thyroid hormones. The worst Endo I had is very well known here, and he only went by TSH, and casually looked at T4 and T3. When I found out that's why he made me as sick as he was, I did NOT hesitate to get rid of him. Dr's like that make people sick. literally. The TSH that your dr is focusing on is just pure ignorance. I'd much rather see what your FreeT3 and FreeT4 are. If those two are in the lower ranges, there is no way in hell I'd be giving up anything by way of dosage.
