Hi Jennie, Welcome to our group, My name is Audie and I'm 54. and I have had

fibro at least 5 yrs, maybe more. I kept going to my Dr. because of my neck and

shoulders hurting, nothing was helping and he said you may have fibro, excerise

at least 15 minutes a day, and I thought that was the cure and I would be o.k.

what a suprise! Exercise does not help me at all, I think I do better the more

rest I get. When I do have a good day I do to much and then I can't do anything

for several days. I take pain pills and muscle relaxers, some days they help and

some days they don't. I do hope you can get some help from this group. Audie

Hi........I'm new here :)

Age range: 59

What are the symptoms? Too many to list........the worst are fibro fog, chron

fatigue syndrome, severe pain, migraines, tender points, carpal tunnel

Has your illness been diagnosed? Was diagnosed 4 1/2 years ago

How long did you suffer before you got help? couple months

Is there a time that you can remember when it started? In my 20's but pain was

not as bad

Some of us have found lack of exercise we are overweight. Have you

found this to be a problem also? Definitely

Are you on disability? No....was denied....didn't make enough $ in the last 5

years

If you are any pointers for others trying to get on disability?

What have you found that helps ease the pain, warm baths, medications

etc.?

Do you have sleep problems? How do you deal with it? Yes....couldn't sleep

with the pain. Am taking 10 mg Ambien, 100 mg Elavil, and 3mg Melatonin

Do you have family that understands your illness? My husband and children are

very supportive

Some have found certain foods causes problems with CFS or Fibro, have

you? No

What type of Doctor have you found that has helped you the most? Started out

with rheumy, then went to rehabilitative specialist and am now with a general

practicioner

Wishing you all pain free days and nights :)

Jennie, welcome to our list. I think that we are a good group. We are very

caring of each other, loving and very supportive. If you have any questions,

just let us know. Someone will more than likely have the answer. If no one

does someone will find out. Also if you feel like venting, have at it. We

all have at one time or another.

Take care,

Irene
