I have had Fibromyalgia/myofasial pain for years but I am just now getting some type of treament for the disease. It actually was not officially diagnosis until this past March. I was just wondering what types of methods others are on. And of course if they work. I have tried so many different things. I have been on every muscle relaxer out on the market. Pain medication (staflex) non narcotic. Neurontin 900 mg at night, elvail, zanaflex muscle relaxer, and the list goes on. My doctor just tried accupuncture and some type of accupuncture that you put on at home..its like a small bandaid with a needle in it..extremly small needle that I put on the area that is spasms. I would like to hear from others, on what works what hasnt, how you get through the tough days with out feeling sorry for yourself. That one I am still battling. I go through the depression days often..and make others around me sad and I dont want to do that. Also I have gained so much weight in the past 4 months. actually 25 lbs to be exact. I was right where I wanted to be months ago...and now I cant stand to look at myself. I would love to hear others stories, input .... Guest guest
Different things work for different people. I keep busy with various projects and try not to focus on my pain. Elavil made me groggy and put on weight. Still trying to get it off. Have you tried guifenesin? That helps some. MAin thing is get sleep. Do you have a sleep problem? After eight years insomnia was just diagnosed with sleep apnea. Still can't believe that I stop breathing after I get to sleep. I kept waking up all night. Had no clue. Stop and visit my web site with stories of everyday courage, maybe it will inspire you.
