Chaim is back in the hospital today (almost a month since the previous

time) after 2 days of feeling like crap and having a high fever with

chills--although we didn't let the fever get to more than 39.6 C.

His Lft's are fine and WBC's pretty good, only the bilirubin is a bit

high, I think he said 1.3 or 1.6 mg/dl.

No antibiotics yet though. My guess is they will do an ERCP. How else

are they going to know what is going on and do something if there's an

infection?

Hopefully tomorrow morning he'll be seen by gastro/ hept. specialist

and then we'll know a bit more.

We just don't get it and of course it's scary. But relative to others,

we have it pretty easy...

I do have some good news though, last Tuesday we attended our 2nd

yearly conference with the Israeli Hepatitis Foundation, which has now

changed their name to " The Israeli Healthy Liver Foundation " (of which

we are a part of). We had the opportunity to ask a panel of top

Israeli Hepatologists and gastroentrologists about what they though of

the results of Lindor's high Urso study. They were unanimous in their

opinion about not jumping the gun and to continue taking Urso until a)

further research is done b)Lindor's study & results were properly and

thoroughly reviewed by a group of his peers, even if Lindor is one of

the top in the field. This also being Chaim's hepatologist's view, we

were reassured to hear this.

My best to all of you,

Ellen
