Guest guest
I guess the " good " news is, now that all of his pre-transplant testing is done, the doctor that has been seeing him since he's been in the hospital this time, is really pushing to get him listed ASAP. He told this morning that with things where they are now, he was going to personally talk to the transplant surgeons about going ahead and listing him. They present cases to the committee every Tuesday but this doctor wants to get him listed BEFORE Tuesday. Anyway, we never heard back today, so it hasn't happened yet but maybe by the end of the week. He also told that with him being as sick as he is right now, he'd probably be pretty high on the list. I guess that's the " good " news. The bad news is, he's THAT sick! He's not critical by any means but his quality of life is seriously lagging right now. Despite all of that, he is in remarkably good spirits and anxiously awaiting news of being listed. I never thought I'd be so excited about something so serious and scary but as many of you know, by the time you reach this point, you're ready! Poor guy looks and feels awful. He's the color of a pumpkin. He's lost weight and didn't have much to lose to begin with (he started at about 120). And right now he's missing out on SO much. He missed my ultrasound yesterday and tomorrow we're supposed to go to court because I'm trying to adopt his daughter. I'm still going, but obviously he can't. I just want him well!
