Breakfast can be an omelet or a low carb cereal or a special " bowl

muffin " I make with a low carb baking mix. I guess I do have grains,

but only if they've been mostly de-carbed. There are low carb breads

too, and I'll have a sandwich with cheese and bacon sometimes, or

smoked salmon and cream cheese.

Lunch is generally an big salad with cheese, nuts, eggs, maybe some

chicken meat.

Dinner is usually meat and fiberous veggies.

Oh yes, greek yogurt is a nice treat too, with some Da Vinci sugar

free syrup on top.

If you do eat grains and sugar and such, make sure you have it with

protein and fat, it'll slow down absorbtion of the sugars so you won't

get the insulin spike and subsequent crash when the blood sugar drops.

I have fruit too, but not fruit juice. The fiber in the fruit keeps

you from having the hypoglycemic reaction, and if you have some cheese

with it it slows down absorbtion even more.

It took me awhile to get over longing for the old foods, but now I can

stare down a bagel and not eat it! I found new comfort foods. :D

Oh, we're both 's!

Thank you for the interesting information. Ever since my doctor

told me to stick to whole foods and stay away from processed and

packaged, I've been looking for ideas. I have to eat breakfast and

lunch at work so it's been kind of hard thinking of things. I do

get some organic cereal bars, granola bars, and have dry cereal but

it gets old quick. :-) I use natural (unrefined, raw) sugar at

home. Do you think it's better, in general?

I'll have to track down some of that Greek yogurt, now that sounds

interesting! Smoked salmon & cream cheese too, wow, that sounds

great! Can you buy smoked salmon? Is it packaged?

Thx!
