Hi All,

My name is Nancie, I've very recently found out that I

have fibromyalgia. This is the second time I've had

the symptoms, or an " episode " or whatever you call it,

but I was just diagnosed this time. I am 45, I don't

work outside the home, but I have a very busy life. I

have 8 children, 3 of them are adults and live on

their own, 2 of which are married and have children.

Of the 5 still at home there are an 18 year old boy

(man?) who just joined the U.S. Marines, 10 year old

twin girls, an 8 year old son and a 6 year old son. I

homeschool the two youngest.

I don't handle pain well, and I'm looking for ways to

deal with it better. My husband doesn't understand at

all, and we are having major difficulties, needing

marriage councelling. I also have suffered from

depression for years, I have panic attacks, chronic

anxiety, agoraphobia, irritable bowel syndrome, and of

course I'm tired and worn out all the time. My

primary care physician, who is a great Dr., ordered

TONS of blood tests and x-rays, and ruled out

everything under the sun, including I'm sure,

pregnancy. LOL (I had a hysterectomy almost 3 years

ago.) Anyway, I'm healthy as a horse...nothing wrong

with me at all, except for all the above mentioned

complaints, which add up to fibromyalgia. I saw a

rheumatologist just yesterday...yes, Saturday of a

holday weekend, and he said I definately have the " 18

pressure points " of pain, and probably a lot more than

that. I've been on medication for depression and

panic since January, and now I'm on Vicodin for

pain...2 a day I'm allowed, and a tranquilizer to help

me sleep, which I've never had before, also robaxin to

relax the muscles.

I also get dizzy a lot, my vision has gotten very

blurry at times, and I get a " buzzzzzz " in my head or

down my arms, sometimes down my legs, leaving me with

tingling or numbness in my hands or face. Does anyone

else get that?

This is all very new to me, but considering all the

things that I was tested for, I'm glad it turned out

to be fibromyalgia and not MS, lupus, hepatitis, or

any of the other many more serious, deadly diseases

that were looked for.

I'm looking forward to being a member of this group,

and finding out more about fibro, how to handle the

pain and exhaustion, and learning how other people

deal with it all.

Nice to meet you all,

Nancie
