Guest guest
Hi Marna A cynical answer could be 'because PSC has a mind of its own and doesn't follow rules'!..grin But I don't thinks that is the reply you require. Hope others can help... > > Hi, > > WHY would my son stop itching if he is third stage or fourth stage > PSC. > > He itched in 2005 on the bottom of his feet only > > MARNA

Guest guest
Well I did read that some can remain asymptomatic up until the transplant ! Very Scary. And my son looks very scary right now. I am on pins and needles waiting to get him to s Hopkins. He has lost so much weight and developed scoliosis and quit growing ! The cancer thing terrifies me because he has had it for 13 years. He will be 14 March 1. MARNA >
Guest guest
I think itching may affect people differently. When I was first diagnosed in 1990, I had terrible itching – your description is the best I have ever seen. When my liver numbers had been down for a few months the itching stopped. It never did return, even when my liver numbers were through the roof prior to my transplant. I sure hope your son follow suit and it never returns. Hi, WHY would my son stop itching if he is third stage or fourth stage PSC. He itched in 2005 on the bottom of his feet only ( he described it as the worst itch you could possibly imagine trying to get to the internal itch ). Benadryl did not help but the pink caladryl lotion did. He has not been on Ursodiol since 2004. His last itching was May 2006. Takes no medications or steroids ever. His liver numbers are always 500-700.....until IV Glutathione which we just started October 2008.The Glutathione brought them down to almost normal. But that is not what stopped the itching. Just curious as to your itching progressions ? MARNA
