Hello All,

Thank you all I am learning so much from your

emails. My Doctor after two years of begging and an

endocrinologist almost laughing in my face for being

an informed patient and trying to discuss other

alternative treatment because I have been unresponsive

to everything else they have tried. I tried once to

suggest Armour or Cytomel they said no that is out of

the question because they are not the " standard

treatment and therefore he would not be a good doctor

if tried something else and these drugs are desiccant

and the dose varies from dose to dose”

He also reminded that and Washington

University is one of the Best Hospitals and has some

of the Best Physicians in the country. So with that

said my body still aches, my hair is still falling

out, depression, insomnia, chronic fatigue, panic

attacks and other unexplainable problems he comes to

me (also according to him sometimes medicine doesn't

work because it is all in your head) and says after me

begging for most of the extra test that my parathyroid

is not functioning properly and we are going to try a

new aggressive treatment of vitamin D daily and once a

week

I finally had said a year ago if it is not my

thyroid “Then find out what it is!” I haven't gotten

better! So I had been reading for two years and

following internet groups like yours and so on. I

finally found some information on a Dr. Kent Holtorf

in California at the The Fibromyalgia & Fatigue Center

due one lady’s story named Margie it was titled

" Margie's Thyroid History " and her struggled with a

thyroid problem that " didn't exist " according to all

the other doctors she went to. Dr. Kent Holtorf has

dedicated his life to the study of FFC and the thyroid

and their relationship so anyway I finally made and

appointment and they suggested I go to the Cleveland,

Ohio center because it is closet to me here in St.

Louis, MO.

So with that said and another 6 months or so of

reading and reading group emails like you guys and

reading more about the . Dr. Kent Holtorf and emailing

and talking with Margie (she has written several

letters to the AMA about doctors who are not treating

patients correctly and her doctors of course) I

decided to make the appointment and tell my regular

doctor. I had never heard of Fibromyalgia and had

heard very little about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Once

a story about 6 years ago about how this condition was

all in the patient’s who had reported these symptoms

head)

So anyway my doctor said I think that's a good

idea. I said really? Is there a test we could due to

find out for sure? He said no, only after we have

exhausested all other treatment methods we can

defiantly say you have Fibromyalgia. I can say this;

we are very close to exhausting all treatment methods.

He thinks it is Frybromyalgia, but doesn't really know

what to do. So after reading many " standard doctor’s

or standard endocrinologist’s treatment all the same

by the way " (For the treatment of different people,

Hummm) they don’t even know the proper treatment or

test of the thyroid and other alternatives for thyroid

patients.

So I saved my money. I don't have insurance I

have Medicaid so " oh well " , it's come down to my life

and it's worth it. I am going on March 21st and 22nd

with all my medical records that every doctor couldn't

explain.

Basically the treatment that this Doctor who was

trained by Dr. Kent Holtorf (I wanted to go to him,

but he suggest out of convenience to me. That the

other doctor in Cleveland was just as capable after

being trained closely by him personally)

Has said is mostly what you guys have been saying

plus more. I can't wait! I am so tired of fighting and

finally found someone who is willing to listen and

understands and is willing to treat me. There maybe

other doctors here in St. Louis, but I couldn't find

one. Maybe I just wasn't looking correctly or felt

trapped by the Medicaid system.

Good thing though Medicaid will pay for my blood

test! So that is a relief because the types that they

order are so extensive and most blood work is

expensive. Even for little test. I started to self

treat, but in the state my body is in. I decided a

specialist in this area is the best idea for me now.

They will be opening a clinic in Kansas City, MO in

June or July I think Dr. Holtorf said. I can’t wait I

decided.

With that said I still must Thank All of you for

sharing your stories and this group and all the others

like it! I hope this all made since I wrote it in the

heat of passion after reading so many stories like

ours. I even cried at some of them because I can

relate and with the relief of “Finally”. Sorry for

being so long as well.

Wish me luck! Have a great and safe to the coming

week ahead and the weekend that's left.

Bye,

Rockette
