Guest guest
-----Original Message----- My husband, , was diagnosed with PSC in 2007 and he won't do any research or do anything to find out about his disease. At first it bothered me…..I, on the other hand, cannot get enough information and knowledge about all of his issues, Barbara, This was/is our life! Ken wasn’t the least bit interested in PSC, but trusted me to learn all I could and answer his questions as they came up. In the long run, our experience has been this….it was the best thing for both of us! Ken was able to stay pretty much stress free and I believe his health benefited from that enormously. I on the other hand would have learned all I could anyway, so this kept me busy and out of his hair. When you first start learning you can get awful scared by all the stories and false information out there. But the more you learn and know about PSC, the more comfortable you can become and *if* the time comes, you’ll be ready and able to cope and that’s a great help to the patient and caregiver. Guest guest
Barb, I believe this is true, as long as Ken did take his meds and had the tests you and the doctors suggested, but in Sheriden's case her husband is not wanting to take the meds, see the doctor, have any procedures done or even give up alcohol.
