There may be others as I have seen another paper several years ago. Here is one on alcoholics with violent behavior. http://alcalc.oupjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/32/5/621 Interestingly, it seems to be the opposite for suicidal behavior. cortisol is high. Guest guest
I need to look up the stories, but I have an in-born error of folic acid. When I was but on an all liquid fast, I was into bitch mode in 2 seconds even though I was exhausted. I was given articles that low folic acid is the main issue with alcoholics. Just thought you would find that interesting. Guest guest
Eileen You might find some valuable information in the following links http://www.alternativementalhealth.com/ Free book http://www.biochemimbal-behavior.com/ Kallie Re: self medicating Oh BOy Sheila: My son is a too!!!! He has meltdowns also and I started this quest to find some help for him. It is soo scary and heartbreaking to see when this happens to him. He is on risperdal and trileptal for the aggression. When they are over he is totally exhausted and in need of some comfort in the worst way. I will be asking for the cortisol test myself and I think I will follow up on my previous post and make an appointment with the Alternative Doc. Thanks Eileen --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guest guest
Thank you Kallie: I went to the alternative mental health site and a doctor I have been thinking of using is on this list. I have come across his group several times now from different boards. I was very happy to see his name on the list. I have contacted them by email and they do treat not only by test results i.e. TSH but also by symptoms. Thanks again Eileen > Eileen > > You might find some valuable information in the following links > > http://www.alternativementalhealth.com/ > > Free book http://www.biochemimbal-behavior.com/ > > Kallie > > Re: self medicating > > > > Oh BOy Sheila: My son is a too!!!! Guest guest
Eileen, Actually I have considered having change his name. To many times I have noticed that people with the same name too often are an awful lot a like. isn't on any drugs right now, prescription drugs BUT . . .. it seems he was taking Hydroxicutt, a weight loss capsule. He asked me to test him today and then he said never mind. He started thinking about how he was feeling when he was at work last night. He figured out what was new in his life and he had a light bulb moment. He quit taking the Hydroxicutt, as that was something fairly new that he was taking. He was in a much better frame of mind today. When he mentioned this to me, I think he had somewhat the same reaction just over a year ago. Funny how we can forget. He was so bad yesterday that I never fixed up his cake or gave him his birthday presents. I just put the presents on his bed as I figured they weren't going to lift his mood any. Hopefully he will be okay. He needs to work and he just gets so negative about the job. Well I hope he doesn't do it for the rest of his life, but in the meantime it is a pretty good paying job. Look I know what you are going through, and my heart goes out to you. If you ever need an ear, I am here. Sheila *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** Oh BOy Sheila: My son is a too!!!!
