Overheating, IBS, growing pains

It's funny, I'm the typical cold feet, cold hands, etc type of woman, I can't

stand air conditioning, but at the same time, I've had spells of overheating for

the past two years. But it can be also because my estrogen is way below the

normal lower limit most of the time. I'm 29 by the way. That's being handled at

the moment. And it's very irritating, because I have very bad premenstrual

syndrome symptoms too, and it's all quite confusing. You can see me wearing a

heavy wool pullover at work (the air conditioning) and a fan directly on my face

at the same time. I'll go nuts one of these days.

Regarding IBS, I've tried tons of things, but the only thing that's really

worked for me recently is aloe vera first thing in the morning, just three

spoonfuls of it. I haven't had a bad diarrhoea spell for ages, months I mean,

and my digestions are almost back to normal, I've forgotten what acid is and

everything seems to be almost under control. Except when I have to take

ibuprofen and the like, because the ulcers in my oesophagus seem to rebel and

they give me a hell of a time. But that's only perhaps three of four days a

month. That's nothing.

I've always had a very bad time when it comes to physical excercise (except

walking, I never get tired of that unless I'm feeling exhausted prior to it) and

I've had my heart checked for about four times and everything seems to be ok,

but it's given me the chills quite a few times. I also was told what I had was

growing pains when I was a child, etc, etc. I was always complaining. I think

that's what made everybody else around so unconscious about it. It was an

everyday thing. They get used to your complaing about everything. That's a fact.

Even the best parents sometimes make mistakes.

I started having dismenorrhea from the very first period. Premenstrual syndrome

since I was about 13. I went on the pill when I was 15 and it seemd to help, but

I didn't like the veins on my legs and the kilos I put on, I wasn't thin either.

So it had its side effects. I started having problems with digestions and so on

when I was about 17 or 18 (was diagnosed IBS at 21). I was plagued with

infections of all kind, colds, etc for the whole time. I had a thyroid infection

that was like a point of inflection in my life. I was about 20 at the time.

That's when I started feeling tired the whole time. Since now.

I've had morning stiffness since I can remember. And I've always been considered

a disaster regarding sleep -too much, too little- by my parents.

So I think my fibromyalgia symptoms started at quite an early age, and since I

was 21-22 things started to go downhill at tremendous speed.

And I'm not complaining about it in the sense that things could have been taken

care of in a different way, etc...But I think it's a shame that you have to wait

for so long only to have the right disease diagnosed, because the people

involved -ie parens, teachers, doctors... just didn't see the connection between

all those things that were happening to you.

So, I think nothing you do when a child complains is too much. You never know

how things happening now will affect them when they're older. It's not a

question of being obsessed, it's just prevention.
