Guest guest
Hello!! I was told that you snore, when you have sleep apnea. Do you snore? Can you have sleep apnea without snoring? According to my husband I don't snore, but I wonder about sleep apnea. My biofeedback doctor tested my breathing. he measured the level of CO2 when I breath out, and my breathing in general, and how it's supposed to be in rythm with your heart rate. Well, my CO2 levels are low, and that could be the cause of fatigue. Has anybody heard about this? No matter how hard I tried to breathe diffently, I could never get my level up. Any information would be appreciated. I'll be going to my primary care physician again tomorrow and I hope she will have any ideas what to test me for. I was in a car accident 4.5 years ago, had a mild traumatic brain injury, whiplash. I've been dealing with miofacial pain and trigger points, headaches, extreme fatigue!!! etc. ever since. I have not been diagnosed with fibro, but I have a lot of the symptoms. I really want to get to the bottom of this. Thank you very much, , CO This might sound weird, but I dearly love my doctor and wouldn't trade her in for anything. She thinks sleep apnea is the cause of fibromyalgia. Sure enough, I found out that when I sleep, I stop breathing 38 times an hour on the average. I don't tolerate the C-pap machine well, so I'm getting sent to a specialist in sleep disorders who happens to also be a specialist in fibromyalgia. Has anyone else been tested for sleep apnea? ~ :-D

Guest guest
, I'm a nurse who's husband has sleep apnea and we've been through the tests, surgeries and CPAP's. I have FM as a result of hepatitis 10 years ago. My doctor, Dr Cole, said our sore muscles can be from a poor breath pattern and he let me trial a home oxygen tank to use while exercising. The respiratory therapist insisted on me wearing a pulse oximeter on my finger all night to see how my O2 saturation was and boy was I surprised. I thought it was normal but the print out he sent me showed multiple episodes of levels below 90! My pulse was irratic and O2 until I got up at 1:30am, took a pain pill, sent my husband to sleep in the next room and put on the O2 in despiration. A doctor in Cincinnati at the TriState Sleep disorder center does sleep studies and my insurance covered it minus my deductible. He showed me the alpha waves (more awake brain waves) when I should be in a deep sleep. I use a vitamin spray called Ultra YOung to help my body repair itself when I sleep but if we miss on our stage 4 deep sleep its hard on our body and we are sore the next day. There is now a center in Cincinnati with a Hyperbaric chamber to help oxygenate the tissues but its all out of pocket. Its researched to help with other medical conditions as well. There's a link off www.anaturalplace.com with the details. I use a diffuser in my home with therapeutic grade essential oils to help me take in more oxygen and its easier to breathe deeper when it smells good. For the apnea, they ordered a newer CPAP device that fits your upper teeth and small pillows to the nose so my husband does not have to wear the uncomfortable thing that straps your mouth closed and over your head. He actually can tolerate it and for once, slept 8 hours!!! He was getting so bad he'd close his eyes while driving which made my stress through the roof. Its not easy having a machine but he feels the difference in a week. Years ago they did the surgery to remove the whole back of his throat and he snores WORSE than before. It was horribly painful. Most medications interfere with deep sleep so you wake less rested. I use more natural substances, meditate and do deep breathing exercises. Good luck!
