Hello: I am just reading my first few posts as I started this week. I am in

southwest Texas where it is so hot right now. It sure does not help

fibromyalgia one bit.

I have had this for 24 years, and it may have stemmed from a whiplash in which I

also had a head injury. Probably will never know. After floundering around for

10 years I had to stop work and go on disability. I have been evaluated by Dr.

Don Golenberg in Boston when they first started treating this synfdome, and he

diagnosed me.

Oddly enough I have never achieved real pain control. I am coming off MS Contin

right now and I am using methadone for the tapering, and effexor and that's all.

it does not help the pain, so I also take tylenols. After this I don't know

what the doctor will do - I am in a big hospital pain clinic now.

Still learning and anxious to get to know y'all

Best, Janet

Thanks a lot, Mandy, for writing. This is my second pain clinic and it just

means you have five doctors looking at your case and the one who treats you is

the top man. Mine is really sharp, and he has explained so much to me I adore

him. I need more help, and keep going back. If you are in a holding pattern

like I have been it is the place to take your whole issue. Keep in touch, OK?
