Because if you are switching from T4-only to Armour, you have to allow your body to adjust to the direct T3. It doesn't mean that someone " could " be on T4 and switch to, let's say, 90 mgs of Armour the next day. BUT........you never know if you have fatigued adrenals, which can make staring or a higher dose of Armour dangerous...... or excessively low Ferritin--both of which can cause problems. Additionally, if you have heart problems, or even MVP, the heart WILL react to the T3, and the worst thing you can do is start on a high dose. >Doesn't this make your thyroid levels drop quite a bit? Only if you stay on the starting dose longer than a week or two. If you noticed, it was recommended to raise again by that time....
