(The following excellent information is provided by Dr. Jay Mead at ZRT Laboratory in Beaverton, Oregon. It is good for those who have expressed concern about using cortisol. Note that when he mentions Licorice Solid Extract, he also mentions Cortef, but you can simply try the Licorice route if you do not want to do the Cortef or other cortisol products.
