I haven't heard anyone say that this isn't a good idea. I use to have a huge problem with drinking those wonderful 32 oz fountain pops. I would drink 2 or 3 a day. I finally quit drinking those and have gone to Gatorade and water. I can tell a huge difference. I'm not as sleepy and don't have the " roller coaster " high from getting on the caffeine and coming off of it. Hopes this helps welcome to the group. Guest guest
-I get those pains from my head down my neck. I lean my head over and pop one side of my neck for relief, but the other side just wont pop. I am not big on meds. It seems as if most dont work for me either. I used flexiril when I first was diagnosed. The doc told me to only take one and take it if I didnt have to get up early. Well after the second night of no relief and no sleep I took 2 and it still took me an hour to go to sleep. I have to admit I took nerve pills (xanax) to help me sleep and they did help. I never felt better, but I am afraid of addiction to those. I take aspirin occassionaly. It is just crazy to have to live with pain all of the time. My husband and I walked down our road 2 days ago and my legs still hurt. I am small and everyone thinks I am so lucky and in good shape. Well I sure dont feel lucky or in good shape! -- In @y..., Allicia21@a... wrote: > In a message dated 08/05/2002 11:58:32 PM US Eastern Standard Time, > reds_henry@y... writes: > > > > It seems if one symptom > > goes away, something comes to replace it. > > > > Isn't this the truth....it seems to me as if one part of my body quits ache'n > then I either get a new kind of ache or somewhere totally different starts > in. Guest guest
By the way my husband has been on night shift for 3 weeks and my sleep pattern is a mess, which I dont think is helping much. > In a message dated 08/05/2002 11:58:32 PM US Eastern Standard Time, > reds_henry@y... writes: > > > > It seems if one symptom > > goes away, something comes to replace it. > > > > Isn't this the truth....it seems to me as if one part of my body quits ache'n > then I either get a new kind of ache or somewhere totally different starts > in. Guest guest
-How old are you? Can I expect this to get worse as I get older? I have been a stay at home mom since my 11 year old son was born. I also have an 8 year old son. I was hoping to work as they are getting older. There is so much I want to do but my body doesnt want to let me. My sons are so active. I am worried one day I wont be able to keep up. What irritates me most about this disorder is for a week or so I will feel great and like I am really living and then it will hit me for a few weeks and puts me back. I wish I could figure out what makes the symptoms lessen and what triggers it back. Have you tried any diet changes? -- In @y..., Allicia21@a... wrote: > In a message dated 08/06/2002 12:19:38 AM US Eastern Standard Time, > reds_henry@y... writes: > > > > By the way my husband has been on night shift for 3 weeks and my > > sleep pattern is a mess, which I dont think is helping much. > > > > > > probably not...Mine is all messed up as well (sleep)...but been trying > really hard this week to get it back on track...I'm not big on taking pills > either. Guest guest
Hi , I have been wondering about the pepsi, I too drink a lot of diet pepsi and I have a lot of pain and when I get up in the morning I always feel like I have been run over by a truck, I quit smoking in 1984 and I have been thinking of starting to smoke again but they costs so much now I don't think I could pay 3 dollars for a pack of them,I have also through of drinking whiskey or something like that I have never been a drinker but if I though it would help I would try it. I know how you feel about not being able to do your work, but some days I just have to let a lot of it go and then I get behind and I don't think I ever get caught up. I don't think they are any easy answers to what works for fibro, I have been getting in my hot tub and it helps my neck pain but some people say that it makes them feel worse so I guess we all just have to keep trying different thing until we find what works for us.I just wondering if pepsi do make us feel worse.,maybe we should quit drinking them to see if we feel better. Audie Im new with questions Hello! I am a just turned 30 year old female. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia during the summer of 2000 I have always had neck and upper back pain, but started having a painful middle finger on my left hand along with the back pain. It was not swollen but felt stiff and painful all the time. I had a bad spell in Nov. of 00. I woke up and could not lift up out of bed due to horrible right shoulder pain. My husband massaged my shoulder for 2 months before it went away. So far I am functional, just in constant dull pain. My youngest son was diagnosed with Legg Calve Perthes disease last year and I had to do therapy with him 3 times a day for a year. Between the worrying and therapy I did with him I ended up on zoloft and nerve pills, but have since quit those. As I get older and when stress comes up I become less functional. It isnt real bad pain, but mostly exhaustion, I think from dealing with constant low grade pain. If I do alot in a day the next day I am wiped out. One thing about this disorder I do know is that I quit smoking for 2 months and didnt have any pain after a few weeks of not smoking. How many of you are smokers? Does exercise work? How about giving up caffeine? I drink 10 cans of pepsi a day. I am not overweight. 5'4 " and 120 lbs. I feel if I would gain weight I wouldnt be able to carry myself around. I am a very high strung nervous person. I am tired of being tired and dont want to take medication. I am starting to feel as if I cant do as much as I once could and my husband can work circles around me and I am tired of it. He will work all day as a cement finisher (hard work) and then come home and help me clean and do kids homework. I appreciate his help, but he shouldnt have to do as much as he does. I wake up feeling like someone beat me in my sleep. I will welcome any replies. Thanks
