Guest guest
I see Dr Howell at yhe University of land, He's supposed to specialize in PSC. Not sure only seen him once, but he made a lot of sence so far and new what he was lookingat on my MRCP which is more then some of the doctors have in the past. My PCP says he is referring me to a doctor at the University of Pittsburgh who;s name is Dr. CHopra, if Dr. Howell doesn't work out. If I could I would go to the Mayo CLinic in either vill or Rochester. Just my 2 cents worth though Here is a link to Dr. Howell http://www.umm.edu/doctors/charles_d_howell.html Here is a link to Dr. Chopra http://www.dom.pitt.edu/gi/faculty/faculty_info.asp? id=737&UserLname=Chopra Good Luck Dawn > > Hi, > > I posted an introduction a few weeks ago regarding my husband > (PSC '91, UC '77, Colon Cancer '01, Age 49)who has had a series of > reucrring infections. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Dr. Chopra at UPMC is fantastic and sees a lot of PSC patients. My son has been seeing him for many years. His knowledge of PSC and all of its complications are superb. I couldn't ask for a more knowledgeable and kinder doctor for my son. Guest guest
Thanks, That's what my PCP said and I am really hard on Doctors. I have fired a lot of them because of how I am treated when I ask a question. I cannot stand to be told, " Because I am an expert. " When they say that to me I am done with them. This might not always be good, but treat me with respect and answer my question or tell me that you don't know. I would respect that more. If Dr. Howell doesn't work out, I will be seeing Dr. Chopra. I have family up there so, I won't be a lone there which makes me feel better. Dan > > > > Hi Dawn, > > Dr. Chopra at UPMC is fantastic and sees a lot of PSC patients. Guest guest
Not only is Dr. Chopra an expert, but most importantly he respects the knowledge of his patients (or caregivers). Please look me up if you ever come to Pittsburgh. Happy New Year. Joanne (Todd's mom)

Guest guest
I would gladly recommend my doc in Fair Oaks, but he works with G'town and their tx team (that is where I would have mine if I needed one), so you might not get a different opinion. Please let me know if you would like his name though! ee > > Hi, > > I posted an introduction a few weeks ago regarding my husband > (PSC '91, UC '77, Colon Cancer '01, Age 49)who has had a series of > reucrring infections. Guest guest
Hi. I'm in the D.C. area as well and at one point was a rather frequent patient at town. I now use the Mayo Clinic, ville for my main hospital, but I also have a PSC specialist at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. His name is Dr. Luketic and he works with the Mayo staff when needed. If you'd like more information on anything or Dr. Luketic's contact info, just let me know. Hope your day is a fabulous one!
