Guest guest
I can sure identify! In my situation, I do know that what I am experiencing is peri, because my temp is wonderful, and my thyroid labs are wonderful. It could be helpful for you to do the free T3, and a progesterone and estrogen lab. I found my progesterone LOW compared to a HIGH estrogen, and that made me feel awful beginning in December--achiness, fatigue. I'm now up to 200 mg. progesterone, and need more. I am STILL a little achy....but progress is at hand. Also, 2 1/4 grains Armour is not a very optimal dose. Why not try inching your way up to 3 grains or so....and see. I am now at 3 1/4 grains. I used to think that 2 1/4 grains was great......until I upped. Viola. Even more benefits. You might also check out your testosterone levels--that can make a difference. Guest guest
Yes, progesterone, estrogen, FT3, testosterone are all good bets for labs - I'd throw in Vit D and B12, especially if you're not taking any as supplements. Guest guest
Janie and Nat, have you had any bleeding issues like I have had? too short cycles, extended but light bleeding after a period? I think I am probably still not on enough Armour, as I had an immediate response to increasing (probably need the T3) Up til now, my estrogen and progesterone have been o.k,, my testosterone is historically borderline, and my labs didn't look too bad the last couple times. It seems somehow related to the Cortef allowing me or making me need more Armour, but also probably my age. I think I will get the hormones checked again. I do supplement with B12 and D, and a ton of other things. I do get the light period, more spotting than anything after day 1, but in my case it's due to low progesterone (as in menopausal levels at 38 yrs old). My cycles are horrifically long though - low estrogen - to the tune of about 36 days. Nat
