Guest guest
Dear Gwynn; I've been thinking of you and Cheryl, and I hope that all went well today. I feel quite awkward that I do not have any first hand experience with polyarteritis, and so can't provide much assistance. I do hope that the mystery is resolved for you today, and that a therapy such as corticosteroids can be started soon (I have read that this can be very helpful for polyarteritis!). Sorry that the hepatitis B link turned out to be irrelevant, but I was very interested in the meningitis B vaccination link that you described. My son had meningitis when he was 6 mo old, and we thought we were going to lose him back then. And he did have a very bad reaction to a DPT shot a month or so before the meningitis incident. I guess then that Cheryl shares several things in common with my son, including young age at PSC & UC diagnosis, bad reactions to vaccinations, and both probably now have antibodies to hepatitis B and meningitis. Often we can only share a little thread of something that we have in common, and a few words of comfort that we understand what you are going through. I wish you strength and courage during this rough time. Best regards, Dave (father of (23); PSC 07/03; UC 08/03)
